中華電信、CVCで80社超の新興企業を育成しAI子会社2社を新設

中華電信の陳元凱執行副総経理によると、同社はCVCを通じて半導体、サイバーセキュリティ、AI分野の新興企業80社超に投資・育成してきた。最近はクラウド生成AIとエッジAIソフトの子会社2社を設立し、海外子会社7社を活用して新興企業の海外展開を後押しする。通信最大手が戦略的資金の担い手として存在感を高めている。
Chunghwa Telecom has backed 80-plus startups via CVC and adds two AI subsidiaries
Chunghwa Telecom EVP Chen Yuan-kai said the carrier has invested in and nurtured more than 80 semiconductor, cybersecurity and AI startups through corporate venture capital. It recently set up two subsidiaries for cloud generative AI and edge AI software, and uses its seven overseas units to help startups expand abroad, making it a growing source of strategic capital.
